Every School Counselor Changes the Game: From Busy to Comprehensive (Webinar)

School counselors are busy—but is all that activity creating the impact students need? In this fast-paced, interactive session, participants will explore how to move from simply doing school counseling activities to intentionally designing a comprehensive school counseling program. Using a practical Define, Design, Deliver, and Assess framework, counselors will examine how student needs, data, standards, tiered supports, and outcomes work together to create a purposeful program. Participants will reflect on their current practices, identify strengths and gaps, and consider how to shift the conversation from “What did we do?” to “What changed for students?” Walk away with practical strategies and a clear next play for strengthening a comprehensive, data-informed school counseling program that ensures every student has access to meaningful support.

ABOUT THE PRESENTER

Matthew Berry has served as a school counselor, MTSS Facilitator, Director of Alternative Education and is currently the Coordinator of School Counseling for one of the largest school districts in Missouri. Matthew is a 2022 American School Counselor Association finalist for National School Counselor of the Year and is the 2020 Missouri School Counselor of the Year. He served as the first chair of the Missouri School Counselor Association from 2019-2021 and can often be found speaking at regional and national conferences on building equitable systems of support and on fully implementing school counseling programs. On social media, he is best known as the One Wild Counselor! The name was created to describe his passion and ability to wildly advocate for the academic and social and emotional needs for every student, every day.
