The WVSCA Advocate of the Year Award honors an individual whose dedication and influence have strengthened and enriched the school counseling profession in West Virginia.
BENEFITS
The Advocate of the Year Award recipient will be recognized at our Annual Conference. Social media, email announcements, and media releases will be provided by the WVSCA.
ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible for the Advocate of the Year Award, an individual must:
- be a school board member, parent, teacher, school support staff, school counselor educator, community leader, or organization who has consistently made a significant contribution to the improvement of school counseling services in the state of West Virginia; and
- be nominated by the deadline of October 31.
Practicing school counselors, administrators, and graduate students are not eligible for the Advocate of the Year Award. Please view our other award categories to recognize these individuals.
NOMINATION
The nomination includes:
- Letters of support. Provide up to three (minimum of two) letters of support describing how the nominee has enriched and strengthened the school counseling profession in West Virginia. One letter must come from a school counselor.
- Brief description of why you are nominating this individual.
